Are you a Registered Nurse looking for a role in the Greater Atlanta area?

We have an immediate opening for an RN to work in a corrections setting in Cumming, GA. We have day shifts and night shifts available. Nights offer a $5/hour diff.

Will look at RNs with a background in ER, Urgent Care, etc. Candidates do not need to have direct corrections experience, but a desire to work in this setting is beneficial.

The majority of this role will be doing intakes for new patients coming into our facility.

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team in the Corrections setting. This full-time, permanent role offers the unique opportunity to provide high-quality healthcare services to a diverse population within a correctional facility. This position requires a strong professional who is ready to take on the challenges and rewards that come with working in a unique healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a strong commitment to ethical and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Corrections, your primary responsibilities will include

  • Providing comprehensive nursing care, including administering medication, documenting patients' health status, and implementing individualized care plans.
  • Responding promptly and efficiently to emergencies, demonstrating sound decision-making skills and a calm demeanor under pressure.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, psychiatrists, and social workers, to ensure the delivery of holistic and effective patient care.
  • Educating patients about their health conditions and providing them with the necessary tools and resources to manage their health effectively.
  • Adhering strictly to all institutional policies and procedures, as well as legal and ethical guidelines pertaining to the provision of healthcare in a correctional setting.
  • Participating in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in correctional healthcare.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position of Registered Nurse (RN) - Corrections, candidates must possess the following qualifications

  • Current and valid RN license in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with previous experience in a correctional facility, acute care, or emergency room setting preferred.
  • Exceptional clinical skills, with a solid understanding of nursing principles and practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse patient population and healthcare team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and professional ethics.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment, with the capacity to make quick and sound decisions.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • The majority of this role will be doing intakes for new patients.
