Children's Health (Dallas) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Manager, Program Manager for a nursing job in Dallas, Texas.

Summary:

The Program Manager of the Nursing Professional Governance provides oversight to the Nursing Professional Governance structure and serves as a liaison between council members, leaders, and nursing leadership across the system. The incumbent will incorporate Children's Health core values to ensure high quality care delivery, a healthy work environment and improved nurse employee satisfaction and retention.

This is an on-site position in Dallas, and will provide system wide support (Dallas and Plano)

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the Nursing Professional Governance structure, including coordination and communication between system-level core councils and service line, department and/or unit councils. Focused topics include nursing research and innovation, informatics, quality and safety, clinical practice, professional development and professional nursing practice.
  • Supports a clinical nurse decision making culture.
  • Facilitates education and training for Nursing Professional Governance.
  • Facilitates the Nursing Professional Governance councils and unit-based councils to promote Magnet enculturation.
  • Engages clinical nurses in review and understanding of the nursing Professional Practice Model
  • Facilitates coordination and standardization for Nursing Professional Governance decision making.
  • Influences and supports a culture of accountability related to Nursing Professional Governance and professional nursing practice for all nurses at Children's Health.
  • Supports ongoing process for clinical nurses in Nursing Professional Governance to review and improve nurse sensitive indicators and nurse engagement, nursing education, and certification metrics.
  • Aligns nursing projects and initiatives with the organization and nursing strategic goals ensuring council nursing projects and initiatives follow evidence-based practice or quality improvement methodology to advance evidence-based nursing practice.
  • Mentors and supports clinical inquiry at all levels.
  • Collaborates with interprofessionals to promote clinical excellence and to improve patient outcomes.
  • Understands and educates the Nursing Professional Governance and bylaws. Provides guidance and mentors clinical nurses in their roles as chairs and participants in Nursing Professional Governance.
  • Helps plan and facilitate meaningful agenda planning meetings and council meetings.
  • Supports a culture of accountability related to Nursing Professional Governance and professional nursing practice for all nurses at Children's Health.
  • Influences and inspires nurses to engage and participate in Nursing Professional Governance.
  • Manages multiple projects.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years previous work-related experience in nursing or nursing-related position Required
  • 1+ year Experienced council leader Preferred
  • 1+ year Experience council member Preferred

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Required

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the State of Texas Upon Hire Required
  • ANCC Magnet approved Nursing Specialty Certification Preferred
