Position Description

General Summary

The RN works under the general supervision of the Practice Supervisor in clinical supervision of the physician to deliver excellent patient care completing the duties and responsibilities of the position while complying with HIPAA and CVPH confidentiality policies. They are responsible to manage patient flow while supporting physician to ensure efficient use of their time and minimize patient wait time. They are responsible to perform operational and quality/risk management duties according to regulations and protocols. The position requires regular use of independent judgment to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and practices. AHA-BLS certification is required however, certification is not a qualifying factor to obtain the position.

Qualifications

Education/Skills Required:

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
  • AHA-BLS is required within 6 months of hire or a current non-AHA-BLS card will be honored up to date of renewal.
  • Understanding and commitment to CVPH core values of teamwork, commitment, confidentiality and quaility care.
  • Excellent attention to detail required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminiology and medications required.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective realtionships with staff, providers, patients, and external customers.
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions with a minimum amount of supervisory direction required.
  • Ability to utilize available business technology to perform assigned duties.
  • Above average organiziatonal skills required.
  • Knowledge of medical practice management and/or electronic medical records systems a plus.
  • Previous gastroenterology experience preferred.
  • Previous outpatient clinic experience preferred.

As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.

Requirements

  • Current RN licensure recognized by the State of New York required.
  • Appropriate experience in specific clinical area. Varies by unit.
