Summary:
Build a program and manage a team of RNs who will provide support to the network of CHMG primary care practices in various key ways including but not limited to phone triage, refilling medications and communicating with patients via the EMR. Lead and guide the team of nurses, establish procedures and review processes, and use a practice of continuous improvement to ensure the best care possible is delivered at all times.
Responsibilities:
* PEOPLE LEADERSHIP
* --Assists with staffing plans in order to improve department synergy, working relationships and employee satisfaction. Maintains positive staff relations through Just Culture.
* --Participates in the recruitment, interviewing and hiring of new staff. Administers annual evaluations and merit increases. Provides input on promotions and transfers within the department.
* --Assists with HR functions, including, but not limited to, PTO, FMLA, & disciplinary actions (documentation, verbal warnings, written warnings, terminations)
* --Works with upline leaders to improve and maintain employee engagement, professional development, and departmental collaboration. --Provides input in budgeting and ensures financial stewardship of team
* --Responsible for completing performance evaluations, 1:1 meetings, and credential and education maintenance for direct reports and/or team.
* OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP
* --Ensures that team members have necessary skills and tools available (education, supplies, equipment) in order to successfully perform their job duties.
* --Seeks to find new opportunities for efficiencies within department including, but not limited to, new technologies and processes. Performs core problem analyses and identifies opportunities for process improvement
* --Works closely with upline leaders to meet the needs of team members, patients and other stakeholders in order to improve the patient care experience and improve quality
* --Ensures open and timely communication of patient information to physicians as required. Responsible for communicating and escalating patient and provider complaints
* --Supports continues quality improvements for providers, families and staff
* FINANCIAL LEADERSHIP
* --Provides input for the creation of and adherence to department budget(s) and fiscal goals
* --Reviews monthly reports from finance and assist with reconciliation of variances
* --Works with manager to oversee staffing plans, monitors for efficiency and availability while minimizing redundancy and controllable overtime
* --Reviews supply and equipment requisitions in order to ensure efficiency while minimizing waste and redundancy
How You’ll Be Successful:
WORK EXPERIENCE
* At least 2 years RN pediatric telephone triage experience Required
* At least 2 years Leadership or clinical education experience Preferred
EDUCATION
* Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience BSN Required
* Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas Upon Hire Required
* Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Upon Hire Required
* Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN) Preferred
