Wound Care Nurse (RN)

Location: Glendale, WI

Shift: Full-Time, Day Shift – NO Weekends, NO On-Call!

Now Hiring: Wound Care RN Registered Nurse

As a Wound Care RN, you'll play a critical role in providing specialized care to our residents, promoting healing, and improving their quality of life. Your expertise will be vital in developing and implementing comprehensive wound care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive wound assessments for each patient, identifying the unique characteristics of their wounds and determining the most appropriate and individualized treatment plans.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based wound care regimens, meticulously documenting all interventions, progress, and outcomes in strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and facility protocols.
  • Provide expert education and guidance to patients, their families, and caregiving staff on optimal wound care practices, infection prevention, and strategies to promote effective healing and overall wellness.
  • Collaborate closely with supervising physicians, nurse practitioners, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure seamless coordination of care, optimize treatment strategies, and facilitate a smooth and timely recovery process for all wound care patients.
  • Monitor and meticulously track wound healing progression, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and proactively identifying potential complications or areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records related to wound care, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning conferences, offering specialized insights into wound management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor, contributing to the overall success and high standards of our rehabilitation center.

Qualifications:

  • Significant prior experience in wound care is essential, demonstrating a strong understanding of various wound types and advanced treatment modalities.
  • Previous experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility setting is required, offering familiarity with the unique needs of our resident population.

Education/License:

  • Possession of a current Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) licensure or a Compact License in good standing.
  • WCC (Wound Care Certified) Certification is mandatory.
