Join the Kirby Forensic Psychiatric Center Nursing Team

Kirby Forensic Psychiatric Center (KFPC) has immediate job openings for Registered Nurses (RNs). Previous psychiatric experience is not required. Positions are available for day shift – 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM and night shift – 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM; all shifts include working every other weekend.

Nurses at KFPC are vital members of a multi-disciplinary treatment team focused on providing compassionate care through patient-centered and recovery-focused mental health services to individuals with serious mental illness, including:

  • Coordinating and providing nursing care
  • Conducting nursing assessments
  • Preparing, implementing, and modifying nursing care plans
  • Providing health teaching, counseling, and education to individuals and families
  • Implementing infection control protocols and procedures
  • Observing and recording individuals' symptoms and care; reporting responses to medications or changes in health

KFPC, a Joint Commission-accredited Office of Mental Health (OMH) facility, provides inpatient treatment and rehabilitation to pretrial defendants who were deemed unfit to stand trial and were court ordered for restoration of fitness to stand trial and individuals who have been found not guilty by reason of insanity. Minimum Qualifications:

Registered Nurse 1 Psychiatric

  • NYS License and current registration to practice as a professional nurse.
