As a Risk Specialist At MercyOne Genesis, You Will

• Assist with planning, coordinating and implementing systems and processes to mitigate risk, and prevent harm to customers as well as protect ministry assets
• Investigate adverse events and safety concerns within the organization to improve patient safety based on identified risk
• Administer the risk management plan/program on a day-to-day basis adverse event review, investigation, and escalation
• Facilitate Code Events, Apparent Cause Analysis (ACA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to make changes in systems and processes to reduce the probability of such an event in the future
• Analyze adverse event data for trends
• Comply with risk management and safety related standards by The Joint Commission (TJC)
• Conduct educational programs and lead meetings to continuously improve the safety and quality of the care provided to our customers

General Requirements

• Iowa Registered Nurse
• More than 3 years' experience in health care setting
  
  

Education

• Bachelor's degree in nursing, health administration or related field required
• Master's degree preferred
