Summary

Reporting to the Nursing Director/Shift Manager, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and providing high quality, individualized patient care using the components of the nursing process. This position is subject to overtime, shift work, working holidays and weekends, standby, and callback assignments.

Minimum Experience/Skills: Minimum one year of inpatient experience as a Psychiatric Nurse with BSN or new graduate with BSN degree with successful completion of New Grad program or minimum two years of inpatient experience as a Psychiatric Nurse with ADN. Ability to deal with people who may be combative. Knowledge of psychodynamic principles and fundamentals of psychotherapy. Knowledge of basic diagnostic categories of mental illness. Knowledge of psychopharmacology and disease entities and interventions, and nursing skills and procedures.

License/Certificates/Credentials: Current: CA Registered Nurse license, BLS CPR for Healthcare Providers, Behavioral management training as mandated by the hospital.
