Position Description

Title: ER RN

Location: Palatka, Florida

Hourly Rate: $30-$45 per hour (commensurate of experience)

Schedule: Days (Rotating Weekends), Nights (Rotating Weekends), Evenings (Rotating Weekends)

Shift differentials: +$4.25 = nights; Weekend = +$2.00/hr

Unit/Specialty: Emergency Room (ER)

Seniority: Junior to Senior (Minimum 6-12 months)

Our client is a leading healthcare system dedicated to providing exceptional patient care across its facilities. This position is supporting a 99-bed acute care facility in the town of Palatka located in Putnam County, Florida. This Central Florida location hosts a rural demographic and offers gorgeous natural lakes and rivers ideal and is ideal for outdoor activities situated just south of Jacksonville and close by the college town of Gainesville, FL. The facility is rated high, performing in 2 adult procedures and conditions and is a general medical and surgical facility.

Job Description:

As an Emergency Room RN, you will consistently deliver excellent customer service and patient care, demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in every interaction working alongside a terrific team within a nationally recognized network of healthcare facilities.

  1. Key responsibilities include establishing a compassionate environment for patients and their families by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support.
  2. You will identify and monitor patient care requirements by recording and reporting symptoms and changes in conditions, documenting medical information and vital signs, and administering medications as ordered.
  3. You will also modify patient treatment plans based on responses and physician orders, consult with healthcare team members to plan and evaluate care, and interpret diagnostic tests.
  4. Promoting patient independence through education and self-care instruction, assuring quality of care through adherence to therapeutic standards, and resolving patient problems using multidisciplinary strategies are also crucial aspects of this role.
  5. Additionally, you will document patient care, maintain continuity among nursing teams, ensure proper equipment operation, supervise personnel, assist with examinations and treatments, coordinate admissions and discharge planning, and may instruct on health education topics and direct infection control programs.

Required Skills:

  1. Minimum of 6 months of institutional Acute Care experience is required.
  2. Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
  3. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  4. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  5. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  6. For candidates with 3 or more years of RN experience and a compact license, consideration can be given, with the understanding they will need to apply for a Florida license.
  7. If a candidate has less than 3 years of RN experience and does not have a Florida RN License, they will need to take the NCLEX in Florida and pass it to be considered.

Preferred Skills:

  • Track record of experience in a fast-paced, acute care setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education and team coordination.
