Position Description
The Director of Clinical Education provides strategic leadership in the planning, development, and implementation of educational programs that support clinical excellence, staff development, and regulatory compliance across the organization. This role ensures the ongoing professional growth of clinical staff while aligning education initiatives with organizational goals and best practices in patient care.

- Design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive clinical education programs that promote evidence-based practice, patient safety, and continuous professional development.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership, physicians, infection control, quality, risk management, and other stakeholders to assess educational needs and deliver targeted training.
- Align local education strategies with market, regional, and enterprise-wide goals to support consistency and excellence across all levels of care.
- Provide supervision and mentorship to the education team, ensuring role clarity, high performance, and professional growth.
- Maintain a strong clinical presence on units, providing coaching and support in clinical decision-making, care planning, and nursing best practices.
- Oversee regulatory compliance for clinical education, including BLS/ACLS and certification programs, ensuring readiness for accreditation and licensure reviews.
- Develop and sustain partnerships with academic institutions and external organizations to support student placements, professional development, and community engagement.
- Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to create effective, impactful training programs.
- Manage departmental budgeting in collaboration with finance, ensuring resources are used efficiently and align with educational priorities.
- Act as a clinical resource to staff, assisting in the assessment and implementation of evidence-based care plans.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and in accordance with policy.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or health-related field (required)
- Master's degree in Nursing or Education (preferred)
- 4-6 years of nursing education experience in an acute care setting (required)
- 2-4 years in a leadership or management role (required)
- Proven experience in developing and implementing clinical education programs (required)
- Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning abilities
- Deep understanding of adult learning principles and clinical instructional design
- Skilled in regulatory standards, quality improvement, and clinical best practices
- Ability to collaborate effectively across interdisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in analyzing learning needs and using varied training delivery methods
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, coaching, and team development

Registered Nurse (RN): Active state license or compact licensure (required) -
Basic Life Support (BLS): Current certification (required)
