Position Description

JOB TITLE: Infection Prevention & Employee Health RN

DEPARTMENT: NURSING ADMINISTRATION

EXEMPT FROM OVERTIME: No

JOB SUMMARY

Provides surveillance throughout Broaddus Hospital and Mansfield Place for infection control purposes. Identifies, investigates, and records data concerning healthcare associated infections. Initiates control measures as directed by medical management committee. Leads and implements the multiple facets of the Infection Prevention and Employee Health programs.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Education: Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Nursing

Minimum Experience: Experience as clinical RN

Preferred Experience: Experience in infection control & employee health

Preferred Certification: Certification in Infection Prevention and Control

Physical Demands: Occasional prolonged standing/walking

Working Conditions: May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases

Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases

Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances

Subject to varying and unpredictable situations

Handles emergency or crisis situations

Occasionally subjected to irregular hours
