A health services network in Binghamton is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join one of their growing inpatient psychiatric facilities. In this role, the Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing compassionate care through patient-centered and recovery-focused mental health services to individuals with mental illness.

About the Opportunity:

• Start Date: ASAP
• Assignment Length: 3-to-4-month assignment
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week (and rotating Saturday and Sunday)
• Hours:7am-3:30pm, 3pm-11:30pm and 11pm-7:30am
• Setting: Inpatient Mental Health
• Patient Population: Adults (Ages 18+)
  

Responsibilities included but not limited to are:

• Candidates will be required to provide general nursing care in a behavioral health setting.
• Duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Assessing the patients' physical needs
• Checking and transcribing physicians' orders in a timely fashion,
• Administering medication
• Admit/discharge and transfer patients based on physician order
• Assisting with procedures and physical exams
• Conducting checks of treatment rooms for required equipment and ensuring its functionality
• Recording appropriate progress notes and other data into the patients' medical record
• Supervising non-professional nursing staff - drawing blood, collect vital signs, etc.

Requirements:

• License and current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse in NYS.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
• 1 year of clinical experience working as a Registered Nurse

Preferred:

• At least 1 year of experience in a behavioral health setting preferred
