Registered Nurse (Night Shift – Critical Illness Recovery Hospital)

Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks, Likely Extension)

Schedule: 3x12 Hour Shifts | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Overview:

We are seeking experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses to join a high-acuity Critical Illness Recovery Hospital. This is not a rehabilitation facility—our patients are medically complex and require specialized care following extended ICU stays. Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission.
• Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide timely updates and documentation for team conferences and care coordination.
• Participate in rehabilitation programs and initiate discharge planning from day one.
• Communicate changes in patient status and seek consultation for complex decisions.
• Supervise ancillary nursing personnel and ensure a safe, therapeutic environment.

Patient Population Includes:

• Stroke, TBI, spinal cord injuries, trauma
• Respiratory and cardiac failure
• Surgical complications, non-healing wounds
• Cardiogenic shock, bowel obstructions
• Average patient stay: 4–6 weeks

Qualifications:

Required:

• Active and unencumbered RN license (Compact or AZ)
• ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA)
• Respirator fit test result
• Strong foundational nursing competencies
• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced setting

Preferred:

• Experience in critical care or step-down units
