A community health center in Los Angeles is currently seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join their growing Pediatrics team.

About the Opportunity:

• Start Date: ASAP
• Assignment Length: Ongoing (Contract to Hire)
• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 8a - 5p
• EMR: ECW
• Patient Population: Pediatrics

Responsibilities:

• Administer immunizations and medications
• Assist the Doctors with examinations and other procedures relating to direct patient care
• Dress wounds, catheterization and irrigation
• Administer EKG's and IV therapy
• Maintain complete and accurate patient records, enter data into the electronic health record (EHR)
• Instruct patients about procedures, preparation for tests or examinations, and self-care upon discharge
• Assist with patient flow including receiving/greeting patients; locating charts/electronic health records; ensuring all laboratory and other test results are in the chart and/or EHR; answering the telephone; and referring patients to appropriate person

Qualifications:

• A valid Licensed Vocational Nurse license issued by the State of California
• Working knowledge of direct patient care methods and practices in a Community clinic setting

Desired Skills:

• 2+ years of Pediatric patient care experience.
