Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) Hospital Educator to join our team! team.

Hospital Educator RN:

  • Under the direction of the Director of Quality and Risk Management , the Hospital Educator is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating clinical and non-clinical in-service education programs for all staff within the hospital. This role works closely with department managers to assess and address educational needs, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and implement staff training programs that promote high-quality patient care and continuous professional growth.

Required Skills:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a health-related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Licensure/Certification

  • Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Specific Job Experience

  • Experience in education or training within a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Previous clinical nursing experience required, with experience across a range of patient populations (pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric) preferred.

Principal Duties and Responsabilities:

Assist in planning, coordinating, and evaluating educational activities with department managers across all hospital departments to meet the ongoing learning needs of staff.

  • Develop and revise hospital-specific orientation programs, collaborating with department managers to ensure successful staff onboarding and integration.
  • Facilitate evidence-based, continuing education programs aimed at enhancing nursing practice, clinical skills, and overall patient outcomes.
  • Assist in the development and revision of policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure alignment with regulatory standards such as The Joint Commission and Nurse Practice Act.
  • Educate staff on regulatory compliance, including Joint Commission, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Coordinate the creation and ongoing revision of department-specific competencies based on nationally recognized standards, if available.
  • Utilize adult learning principles to assess educational needs, design targeted training programs, and ensure measurable learner outcomes.
  • Assist in conduction regulatory required clinical drills (i.e. Universal Protocol, Malignant Hyperthermia).
  • Collaborate with department managers to create individualized development plans for staff based on skills assessments and performance evaluations.
  • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make adjustments as needed to improve staff learning experiences and patient care delivery.
  • Serve as a resource for clinical staff in implementing new technology, equipment, and protocols.
  • Provide support for staff development activities that meet certification or licensure requirements, such as BLS and advanced life support certifications.

Education
