Overview:

Medix is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic outpatient clinical team. In this role, you will facilitate seamless patient care flow while directly supporting assigned providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This position requires strong clinical expertise, a proactive mindset, and a passion for women’s health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and assist in patient care activities within the clinic.
• Perform triage and assess health education needs of patients, providing appropriate instructions and support.
• Coordinate care for antepartum patients, including follow-up testing, procedures, physician’s orders, and hospital admissions.
• Support in-office procedures, assist providers and nursing staff, and maintain clinical equipment and inventory (including sterilization).
• Collect and manage prior authorizations for prescriptions.
• Monitor and respond to task queues and clinical messages.
• Review and follow up on lab results and imaging studies, communicate abnormal findings to physicians, and assist in implementing treatment plans.
• Participate in clinical orientation and competency sign-off for new staff.
• Engage in data collection and contribute ideas for clinical research.
• Maintain clinical competencies and participate in ongoing education to ensure the highest quality of care.
• Rotate to other clinic locations as needed.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an NLN-accredited School of Nursing.
• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in women's health, family medicine, or internal medicine (novice nurses will not be considered).
• Strong patient communication skills and a collaborative team approach.
• Comfortable with hands-on learning and quick adaptation in a fast-paced clinic environment.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor medical assistants.
• Strong EMR (Epic) experience preferred.
