Description
POSITION PORPOSE
- Registered Nurse RN position that supports the Trinity Health Livingston Emergency Observation Unit. The Emergency Observation Unit monitors patients with cardiac and respiratory symptoms with specialized care.
- This position is a Part-Time, benefited opportunity scheduled 24 hour per week: 12-hour night shift (6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.) with a weekend and holiday rotation.
- Under limited supervision, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan. The RN interprets and performs complex patient-care procedures specific to their expertise.
- RNs are members of the Care Team and Support Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care.
- The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame.
- The RN provides care to those patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/technology, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards.
- Patients served include all age groups (Infant through Older Adults as identified in Performance Standards).
- Current Michigan Nursing License
- Graduation from accredited nursing program: Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire.

- Be eligible as a Weekend Alternative employee, the individual must: a. Satisfactorily complete the hospital and department orientation b. Demonstrate proficiency and knowledge in their department c. Must maintain current with any required certifications, licensures, and/or any requirements for their current position 2. The employee must adhere to the following scheduling requirements: a. Work a minimum of forty-eight (48) out of fifty-two (52) weekends per year. The four weekends not worked must be requested in advance and have approval of the department. b. Work a minimum of two eligible weekend shifts per weekend, with a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours worked per weekend
