Position Description

Job Overview – Per Diem Licensed Practical Nurse (Long Term Care):

Compensation: $40 – $42/hour

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Schedule: Saturday & Sunday, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM

Provide skilled nursing care as a Per Diem Licensed Practical Nurse (Long Term Care) with our client in Pittsburgh, PA. Perform assessments, administer treatments, manage large medication passes, and address health concerns while ensuring compliance with all regulations. Flexible weekend day and night shifts are available, offering an excellent opportunity for experienced LPNs committed to compassionate, resident focused care.

Responsibilities as the Per Diem Licensed Practical Nurse:

  • Resident Health Oversight: Monitor and address the overall medical needs of residents, ensuring appropriate treatment and follow-up.
  • Nursing Care & Assessment: Perform comprehensive health assessments, administer treatments, and respond promptly to changes in resident condition.
  • Medication Administration: Conduct large-scale medication passes with accuracy and adherence to physician orders.
  • Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver personalized care plans.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain precise medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Emergency Response: Respond effectively to urgent medical situations, providing immediate interventions when required.

Qualifications for the Per Diem Licensed Practical Nurse:

  • Licensure: Active Pennsylvania Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Experience: Long-term care nursing experience required, with prior work with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Skilled in electronic health record (EHR) documentation, medication administration for multiple residents, and clinical procedures in a residential care setting.
  • Additional Requirements: Must be 18 years or older and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a compassionate, resident-focused approach.
