Job Title: PACU Registered Nurse | Sign-On Bonus available up to $15K

Job-Type-Full-time Location: Panama City, FL, US

Shift: Mixed 10-hour shifts with on-call requirement

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) Registered Nurse to join our dynamic surgical team. In this critical role, you will provide immediate post-operative care, monitoring, and support for patients recovering from anesthesia and surgery. You'll be responsible for maintaining airway patency, assessing neurological and cardiac function, and ensuring patient stability during recovery.

This position requires on-call availability and the ability to respond within a 30-minute radius of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the post-anesthesia setting
• Monitor patients' vital signs, neurological and cardiac status, and respond promptly to complications
• Administer post-operative medications and manage wound care
• Communicate effectively with surgical, anesthesia, and nursing teams
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions
• Document all care provided in a clear and timely manner
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff collaboration meetings
  
  

Schedule & Work Environment

• Mixed 10-hour shifts (e.g., 7-5:30, 8-6:30, 9-7:30, 10-8:30)
• Preferential/self-scheduling available 4 weeks in advance
• Collaborative team environment with support from CNAs, Patient Care Techs, Charge Nurses, and float pool RNs
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2
• On-call rotation required
  
  

Qualifications

• Active RN License
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care PACU experience (critical care background preferred)
• BLS certification (within 30 days of hire)
• ACLS and PALS certifications (within 60 days of hire)
• Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
