InGenesis is currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Operating Room RN to work with our client. In this role, you will provide direct patient care and serve as a leader and mentor within the department. The operating room nurse plays a critical role in ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centered surgical care while supporting staff development, quality improvement, and interprofessional collaboration. The shift would be 10:30am - 7:00pm with on call rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver expert-level nursing care to a diverse surgical patient population.
• Lead and mentor staff in clinical and professional practice areas.
• Serve as a clinical resource and role model for compassionate communication and teamwork.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Lead initiatives to improve patient satisfaction, safety, and quality outcomes.
• Participate in shared governance, unit projects, and performance improvement activities.
• Support student and new employee preceptorships and foster a positive work environment.
• Respond to emergent situations and manage complex patient assignments.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital protocols.
• Promote cultural diversity, inclusion, and patient advocacy in all aspects of care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current Texas RN license or Compact State RN license (or temporary TX license with permanent licensure within 90 days of hire)
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a healthcare environment
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced clinical assessment and documentation skills
• Ability to manage complex patient care and respond to emergencies
• Proficiency in time management, prioritization, and interdisciplinary collaboration
