Position Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (RN - ER)

Shift: AM | 12-Hour Shifts

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Guaranteed Hours: Yes

Start Date: 07/18/2025

Location: Springfield, MA 01199

Compensation: Pay varies based on candidate classification (Local vs. Travel)

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity Emergency Room team in a fast-paced urban medical environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical judgment, rapid response skills, and a calm, collaborative demeanor in high-pressure situations. This opportunity is ideal for professionals looking to make an immediate impact while working alongside a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to diverse ER patients in urgent and critical situations
  • Perform triage, patient assessments, and rapid interventions in accordance with clinical protocols
  • Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to ensure effective, coordinated care
  • Document all patient interactions, treatments, and care plans accurately and timely manner
  • Provide education and emotional support to patients and families during emergency care delivery

Unit Overview:

  • Unit Size: 100 beds
  • Patient Volume: Over 110,000 visits annually
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5
  • Unit Type: Emergency Room / Trauma

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience
  • Certifications (Required):
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • Licensure: Active RN license in Massachusetts (or compact license eligible)
