Position Description

POSITION SUMMARY The Clinic Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of nursing care within the clinic, ensuring that care meets high standards of clinical practice. This position plays a pivotal role in supervising nursing staff, optimizing patient care, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and continuously improving nursing processes. The Clinic Nurse Manager works closely with leadership to enhance patient outcomes, staff development, and clinic efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical Operations & Supervision 1. Oversee Nursing Care 1. Supervise and manage the delivery of nursing care in compliance with established clinical practice standards, regulations, and quality assurance protocols. Ensure patient confidentiality and accuracy in medical record documentation. 2. Analyze staffing patterns and work closely with Human Resources and the Director of Nursing to recruit, hire, train and evaluate the performance of staff. Establish work schedules and foster a team working environment. 3. Evaluate staffing levels for efficient and appropriate distribution of nursing and clinical staff. 4. Ensure compliance with all Trinity Health policies and procedures, including attendance, punctuality, and regulatory standards. 2. Staff Supervision and Problem Solving Provide direct supervision to nursing staff and other healthcare personnel, ensuring effective patient assessment, care delivery, and treatment plans. Act as a key problem-solving resource for staff regarding patient care issues. Identify patient care trends and propose solutions to ongoing challenges. 3. Collaboration with Leadership Partner with the Director of Nurses and other leadership to develop, implement, and monitor nursing department goals, policies, procedures, FTE and capital budgets, and quality assurance plans. Ensure alignment with organizational priorities. 4. Data Analysis & Feedback 1. Collect, analyze, and report on patient outcomes, quality assurance metrics, budget performance, and productivity. Provide regular feedback to staff on performance, goals, and clinical practices. 2. Serves pivotal role in managing and implementing activities to improve quality indicators specific to each department. 5. Emergency and Disaster Planning Contribute to medical practice planning, including emergency and disaster response protocols, ensuring the clinic is prepared for urgent situations. 6. Participates on Clinic on-call weekend rotation. 7. Performance Requirements

  • Knowledge o In-depth understanding of nursing practices, healthcare laws, and clinical regulations. o Knowledge of supervisory principles, budget management, and quality improvement strategies. o Awareness of the latest healthcare advancements and trends to ensure state-of-the-art patient care. o Expertise in employee development, mentoring, and training techniques for nursing staff.
  • Skills o Proficiency in applying professional nursing techniques and modifying them to meet patient needs. o Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop actionable solutions. o Ability to maintain a high standard of quality care and implement quality assurance processes. o Strong judgment, discretion, and decision-making ability in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
  • Abilities o Ability to manage the overall nursing service provision and foster consensus and collaboration among staff. o Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to work well with diverse healthcare professionals and staff at all levels. o Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing tasks in a fast-evolving clinical environment. o Physical ability to perform essential duties, including patient handling, lifting, and maintaining dexterity for medical tasks.
  • Ongoing Compliance o Adhere to ServiceFIRST principles to enhance patient satisfaction. o Participate in mandatory education and in-service training. o Stay updated with clinic communications and departmental meetings. o Maintain compliance with Trinity Health policies and procedures. o Engage in clinical performance and patient safety initiatives. o Maintain required Continuing Education Units (CEUs), licenses, and certifications.
