Location: Multiple school sites across well-established community and public school districts in Union County, New Jersey

Target Start Date: Ongoing hiring for current and upcoming school year

SCHOOL NURSE CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

Applicants must hold a valid New Jersey School Nurse Certification.

Candidates without this certification cannot be considered for this role.

About the Role

Several respected Union County Public School systems serving students from Pre-K through 12th grade are actively seeking dedicated and compassionate Per Diem School Nurses (RNs) to support student health and wellness across its educational programs.

School Nurse Key Responsibilities:

• Administer first aid, CPR, and emergency care as needed
• Dispense and manage prescription medications in accordance with physician directives
• Conduct hearing and vision screenings
• Monitor and manage student vaccination records
• Educate students on health, hygiene, and safety practices
• Take temperatures and assess students for signs of illness
• Treat minor injuries such as scrapes, cuts, and bruises
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns

School Nurse Minimum Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license – State of New Jersey
• Valid New Jersey School Nurse Certification – REQUIRED
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, preferably with pediatrics, school-based care, or community health
