Description

Here at Saint Mary’s Hospital Hematology/Oncology Dept. you will be part of a multidisciplinary team to provide continuity of care throughout various stages of treatment and follow-up, including, but not limited to: Laboratory, radiation therapy, genetics, clinical research, social work, and pharmacy.

What Will You Do

Practices safe administration of infusions, injections, and transfusions. Administers chemotherapy/Biotherapy, performs patient assessments, provides symptom management, and patient and family education.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited college or university affiliated nursing program. BSN graduates preferred.
  • Licensure: Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse RN in Connecticut.
  • Certification: BLS required. ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy card strongly preferred.

Work Schedule

  • Full time, 40 Days
  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 5 pm

Additional Info

  • Scheduling patients for treatments and triaging of patient phone calls.
  • Manage a caseload of patients receiving a variety of infusion therapies on an outpatient basis.
  • Collaboration with referring physician offices to coordinate one-time or ongoing therapies.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently and effectively while continuing to provide the safest, highest quality of care.
  • Other duties as assigned.
