Position Description

Position: Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg / Telemetry (Nights)

Location: Owosso, MI

Overview

Protouch Staffing is seeking highly skilled Registered Nurses for a 13-week night shift assignment in Owosso, MI. This position involves working in the Medical-Surgical unit and floating to the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) as needed.

The role requires strong clinical expertise in telemetry, proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic hospital environment.

Assignment Details

  • Pay Rate: $50/hour - 36-hour weekly guarantee
  • Start Date: September 8, 2025
  • Shift: Nights - 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
  • Schedule: Every other weekend, no on-call
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Unit Scope: Float between Med Surg and PCU, providing care to a diverse patient population

Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years recent Med Surg experience - Required
  • Ability to float to PCU - Required
  • Proficiency in telemetry monitoring & rhythm interpretation - Required

Certifications

  • ACLS (AHA) - Required
  • BLS (AHA) - Required

Other Requirements

  • Active Michigan RN license
  • Must pass a dysrhythmia competency test prior to start
  • COVID-19 vaccination (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans within 24 hours of admission
  • Deliver evidence-based nursing care while fostering patient independence
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding medical conditions, treatments, and home care needs
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain complete, accurate documentation and comply with hospital policies and protocols
  • Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and medication administration standards
  • Demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and compassionate care at all times
