Job Overview

The RN Stroke Program Coordinator is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of quality healthcare services to stroke patients in compliance with state requirements and standards.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • BSN
  • Must demonstrate the following skills: project management, leadership, time-management, strategic and creative thinking
  • Must have excellent verbal, written and communication skills and competent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrates analytical and critical thinking skills with proactive decision and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member while assuming a leadership role
  • Ability to collect, analyze and present data to appropriate committees
  • Completion of all orientation requirements by RWJ Rahway

Preferred

  • MSN
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant clinical experience with stroke care, additional neurological nursing and/or critical care experience preferred

Certifications And Licenses Required

  • Active NJ RN License
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • Specialty certification CCRN, CNRN, SCRN preferred

Scheduling Requirements

  • Day Shift
  • Full -Time
  • 40 hours weekly
  • Mon. - Fri.
  • 8am - 4:30pm
  • No weekends or holidays

Essential Functions

The RN Stroke Program Coordinator:

  • Participates in data collection, analysis and reporting of established clinical practice guidelines
  • Works with the interdisciplinary team in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Stroke standards of care
  • Assist in professional stroke education programs in conjunction with the education department
  • Provides support and resources to the stroke unit staff and patient population,
