Labor and Delivery RN - Ottumwa, IA (New Graduates Welcome; Sign-on/Relocation up to $15k)

Job Type: Full-time

Other Units Available: Labor & Delivery; Intensive Care Unit; & Acute Rehab

Position Summary

Provide direct nursing care for patients in the Women and Family Center, including labor & delivery, post-delivery, post-surgical, newborn nursery, special care nursery, and pediatrics.
Complete physical and psychosocial assessments of assigned patients.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized Nursing Care Plans in collaboration with patients and families.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic patient care.
Enter and acknowledge physician orders using computerized order entry systems.
Document patient care and responses in the electronic medical record system.
Administer medications following the five rights of medication administration.
Demonstrate strong critical thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Support the Women and Family Center team to ensure quality patient care.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
Current Iowa RN license or compact state license allowing practice in Iowa.
New Graduates are encouraged to apply.
Current BCLS certification.
NRP certification required within 12 months (offered through ORHC).
Basic fetal monitoring course required within 12 months.
Preferred but not required: Experience in Maternal Child Nursing or Medical/Surgical nursing.
