Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Location: Branford, CT (Onsite)

Employment Type: Full Time - Perm; Schedule: M-F 9:00-5:30 can vary a little 8:00-4:00 - Will be 40 hours per week. 1 Full-Time (5x10 hrs), 1 Part-Time (3 days/week)

Compensation

Pay Range:$51.50-$55.00 Per Hour

Description

Minimum 2 years of operating room nursing experience required.

Works closely with surgeons and care team during procedures.

Strong surgical and orthopedic nursing background preferred.

Ability to meet the needs of the nursing service as demanded by the schedule, especially when overtime hours and time changes are necessary.

Experience working in a surgery center is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Correlate clinical data with patient's medical and nursing care.

Demonstrate high standard of communication with patients, family members, and all members of our healthcare team.

Assess, plan, evaluate and ensure the implementation of the patient's care to achieve identified outcomes and deliver safe patient care according to facility policy and procedure.

Assume an active role in the provision of quality nursing care for patients receiving care.

Document all patient information according to established standards of care, with regard for determined policy and procedure.

Demonstrate expertise with infection control, engaging standard and universal precautions as trained or instructed.

Qualifications

Holds a current state of Connecticut license as a Registered Nurse.

Holds a current certification in basic life support.

Has a minimum of 2 years of OR nursing experience; orthopedics a plus.

Possess a good command of the English language, both oral and written.

Ability to work well with surgeons, employees, patients and coworkers alike.

Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.

High School Graduate or equivalent.
