Position Description

Job Overview – Psychiatric Registered Nurse (ACT Program):

Compensation: $98,000/year

Location: Bronx, NY

Schedule: Monday to Friday (On-Site)

Deliver comprehensive psychiatric nursing care as a Psychiatric Registered Nurse (ACT Program) with our client in the Bronx, NY. In this field-based role serving clients across all five boroughs, you will provide medication management, assessments, health education, and community-based support for adults with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, or limited social supports. Collaborate with prescribers, families, and community providers to promote recovery-oriented, trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities as the Psychiatric Registered Nurse:

  • Medication Management: Administer oral and intramuscular medications, monitor side effects, ensure adherence, and provide psychoeducation on mental health and treatment.
  • Clinical Documentation: Maintain progress notes, assessments, and reports in compliance with OMH, DOHMH, and Medicaid standards.
  • Collaboration & Supervision: Work closely with the ACT prescriber and LPNs to oversee medication schedules, nursing care, and health counseling.
  • Community Care Coordination: Engage with families, hospitals, housing providers, justice personnel, and outpatient programs to support client stability.
  • Team Participation: Actively contribute to daily meetings and reviews to ensure coordinated, recovery-oriented service delivery.

Qualifications for the Psychiatric Registered Nurse:

  • Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) with an active New York State license required.
  • Experience: 3+ years in psychiatric nursing, behavioral health, or substance use treatment, with experience supporting adults impacted by homelessness, justice involvement, or limited supports.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong organizational and communication skills, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish highly preferred to serve diverse communities.
