• Shift Hours: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None
• Block Scheduling: Not available
• Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable)

Job Requirements

• Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Travel experience required
• Certifications Required:
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• TNCC or TCAR
• Stroke education (6 hours; can be provided)
• EKG course completion (can be provided)
• Charting System:
• Cerner (required)
• Licensure:
• Active RN license required
  

Skills & Responsibilities

Required Skills:

• IV Therapy: Starting IVs, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, blood product administration
• Respiratory Care: Ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, chest tube assistance, ABG interpretation, suctioning
• Cardiac & Emergency: Dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardiac/vasoactive drip titration, emergency medication administration
• Neurological: Stroke management, TBI, spinal cord injury, post-neurosurgery care, ICP monitoring, EVD, lumbar drains, Arctic Sun protocol
• Renal & GI: Chronic/acute renal failure, GI surgery recovery
• Other: Infection control, wound care (including wound vacs), sedation administration, phlebotomy

• May float to MS, Tele, or other specialties based on competencies
  
  

Facility & Patient Details

• Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Daily Census: Approx. 15 patients
• Unit Size: 20 beds
• Interdisciplinary Support Includes: IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary
