Registered Nurse (Operating Room)

Position Overview

Seeking a Registered Nurse with strong operating room experience to provide patient care in a fast-paced Ambulatory Surgery Center. This role supports clinical operations and requires a high level of professionalism, flexibility, and commitment to patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

Clinical Activities (50%)

• Deliver care in accordance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act
• Conduct assessments, exams, and treatments
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Participate in preoperative calls and unit checks
• Communicate effectively with patients and families

Quality and Safety (20%)

• Adhere to regulatory and professional standards
• Coordinate care for complex patients
• Report near misses and support performance improvement
• Maintain a safe and compliant unit environment

Customer Service (30%)

• Prioritize patient-centered care and communicate delays
• Advocate for patients and resolve clinical or ethical concerns
• Educate patients on ASC policies
• Maintain professional relationships and assess satisfaction

Qualifications

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Experience

• Minimum 2 years as an RN in the Operating Room
• Additional experience in Pre-Op, Pre-Admission Testing (PAT), ER, Infusion Therapy, or hospital/ASC settings
• Familiarity with service lines such as Ortho Joint, ENT, GYN, General Surgery, Plastics

Licenses and Certifications

• Active Texas RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Skills

• Basic computer proficiency
• Flexibility and willingness to learn all service lines
