Job Description

Essential Duties

• Clinical Activities
• Provide patient care per Texas Nurse Practice Act at novice RN level.
• Conduct assessments, exams, and treatments following nursing process standards.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and professionalism.
• Participate in preoperative calls and routine unit checks.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families.
• Perform duties as assigned by leadership.
• Quality & Safety
• Adhere to regulatory and professional standards.
• Coordinate and modify care for complex patients.
• Report near misses and support performance improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe unit environment.
• Customer Service
• Communicate delays and prioritize patient-centered care.
• Advocate for patients and resolve clinical/ethical concerns.
• Maintain professional relationships and assess patient satisfaction.
• Educate patients on ASC policies to prevent misunderstandings.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  
  

Experience

• Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room
• Additional experience in:
• Pre-Op
• Pre-Admission Testing (PAT)
• Emergency Room (ER)
• Infusion Therapy
• Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) or hospital setting
• Experience with service lines including Ortho Joint, ENT, GYN, General Surgery, Plastics
• Experience with a single service line preferred
  

Licenses & Certifications

• Active Texas RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  
  

Skills

• Basic computer proficiency
• Flexibility and willingness to learn all service lines
  
  

Travel Requirements

• Travel not required
• No multi-location travel within a shift
• Not a home health role
