Job Summary And Qualifications

Under the general supervision of the Cath Lab/IR Manager/Designee, the Registered Nurse is responsible for professional nursing care and related assistance to patients experiencing cardiac or interventional radiology procedures upon admission to the department. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process in ensuring safe and competent quality patient care. The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization/IR Laboratory supports the medical care of all patients requiring any cardiac or peripheral intervention under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the mission and objectives of the hospital. This individual maintains a complete Intraoperative record and is responsible for the patient during the pre-operative, intra-operative and immediate post-operative period.

What you will do in this role:

• Assesses patient’s understanding of procedure and conditions.
• reviews procedure systematically prior to and during study.
• Assure continuity of patient care by giving report to receiving
• units post procedure; reports to include assessment, fluid status, response to procedure and plan of care.
• Prioritizes and organizes care to be given to each patient, using patient input when possible.
• Complete work within an acceptable time limit.
• Utilizes time wisely during shift.
• Perform several tasks simultaneously during peak workload situations.
• I understand that I am responsible for adhering to the hospital policy on ensuring proper surgical count. (Counts-Sponge, Sharps, and Instrument)
  
  

What qualifications you will need:

• Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse
• Graduate form an accredited School of Professional Nursing
• BLS Certification
• 1 year of acute care experience
