Position Description

The Controlled Substance Compliance Nurse Director (CSC) is responsible for the prevention, detection, and management of narcotics diversion within the healthcare setting. This role ensures the safe and legal handling, administration, and disposal of controlled substances across the health system. The CSC works closely with clinical teams, pharmacy, corporate compliance and occupational health to identify diversion risks, investigate discrepancies, and ensure compliance with federal and state narcotic regulations. The nurse director is integral in promoting a culture of safety, integrity, and compliance within the clinical environment. National certification in Nursing or Healthcare related specialty preferred.


Education

Masters Degree : Nursing, Healthcare, Health Administration, Public Health, Organizational Development or related field (Required)

Bachelors Degree : Nursing (Preferred)

Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.


Experience

5 Years experience in clinical nursing, preferably in acute care or pharmacy setting (Required)

General experience and strong knowledge of controlled substance regulations and best practices in medication safety (Required)

Previous experience in narcotics diversion prevention or healthcare compliance (Preferred)

Previous experience medication safety, compliance, risk management, or drug diversion investigations (Preferred)

License/Certifications

RN-LIC - PA Registered Nurse License (Required)


NE-BC - Nurse Exec Board Cert (Preferred)
