Responsibilities

Join us in building excellence from the ground up at Texas Health Resource Surgical Center - Forney, a brand-new, state-of-the-art ambulatory surgical center designed to provide exceptional care to our community. Our modern facility will feature four operating rooms, one procedure room, and 12 total bays dedicated to preoperative and postoperative care. Specialties will initially focus on orthopedics, sports medicine, and pain management, with plans to expand services as we grow.

We are currently seeking a Preoperative / Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Assessment Testing Nurse to join our founding team. This unique opportunity allows you to be part of the center’s opening and help establish efficient workflows, clinical best practices, and a positive patient experience from day one.

In this role, you will:

  • Report directly to and collaborate with the Director of Nursing to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness in patient care.
  • Work across preoperative, PACU, and pre-admission testing areas to support seamless patient preparation and recovery.
  • Serve as a self-starter who can adapt to a startup surgical center environment, taking initiative and contributing to process development.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with the entire care team.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
  • One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required
  • Medical / surgical nursing experience
  • Current state licensure to practice within good standings. Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
  • Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
  • Successful completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course is required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope services within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification.
