Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery | Holy Cross Hospital – Jordan Valley West, West Valley City, UT

Position Summary

The Labor & Delivery RN provides compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the childbirth process. Responsibilities include assessment, care planning, medication administration, patient education, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess physical, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs
• Develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications, perform wound care, IVs, catheterization, and specimen collection
• Educate patients and families on postpartum care and newborn health
• Advocate for patient safety and rights
• Collaborate with healthcare teams for coordinated care
• Delegate tasks per hospital policy and state regulations
• Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
• Maintain professional development and documentation standards
• Float to other units or facilities as needed
• Participate in weekend and on-call coverage
  
  

Qualifications

Required:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Active RN license (Utah or compact state)
• BLS (AHA), NRP, and C-EFM or AWHONN certification
  
  

Preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• 1+ year of Labor & Delivery experience
