Position Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse Assessor – IDD Program (Fully Remote)
Location: Remote (Colorado, Iowa, Idaho, or Oklahoma)
Position Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Contract (6+ months)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm MST (with flexibility as needed)
Pay Range:
$75,000- $80,000
Position Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurses (RNs) to support a new state-funded initiative serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This fully remote position involves conducting virtual clinical assessments to determine eligibility and service needs for Medicaid members.
Using structured skilled care acuity tools, the RN will assess both clinical and non-clinical needs, helping ensure each individual receives the appropriate level of support and services. Approximately 30% of the members assessed will be pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct virtual assessments (approximately 2–3 hours each) for Medicaid members with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including pediatric and geriatric individuals.
- Utilize standardized tools to evaluate skilled nursing needs, personal care requirements, and caregiver support needs.
- Document clinical findings and develop service recommendations accordingly.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and caregivers as needed to ensure continuity of care.
- Support quality assurance initiatives, including peer reviews and inter-rater reliability checks.
- Contribute to training efforts for new assessors and participate in process improvement activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Current and unrestricted RN license in Colorado or a Compact State (required).
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience within the last 10 years (excluding clinicals).
- Meaningful experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) required.
- Strong clinical background with critical thinking and assessment skills.
- Experience with pediatric and geriatric populations strongly preferred.
- Spanish-speaking/bilingual candidates highly preferred.
Additional Details:
- Contract Duration: Long-term contract (minimum 6 months), with potential for extension or contract-to-hire.
- Workload: Two assessments per day expected initially, with documentation and coordination responsibilities.
- Interview Process: Single 30-minute virtual interview.
- Support: Assessments are scheduled by a dedicated intake team of LPNs.
