Title: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse - SOS Program
Location: Manhattan, NY
Employment Type: Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Day Shift
Compensation
Pay Range: $92,000 Per Year
We are seeking a compassionate and mission-driven Registered Nurse (RN) to join our SOS team. This is a unique opportunity to use your clinical skills in a community-based, outreach setting—bringing care directly to some of NYC’s most vulnerable residents.
RN Key Responsibilities
The Safe Options Support (SOS) Program is dedicated to helping individuals experiencing homelessness by using the Critical Time Intervention (CTI) model. Our teams work above and below ground, engaging people living on the streets and subways to build trust, address urgent needs, and connect them to long-term housing, social services, and community supports. We partner with the MTA, hospitals, and community organizations to improve safety and ensure individuals receive the care and resources they deserve.

RN Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments for program participants.
- Provide nursing support in community settings (no prescribing required).
- Assist individuals with navigating housing, food assistance, and program enrollment.
- Participate in canvassing and outreach efforts in subways, streets, and community locations.
- Coordinate access to mental health services, housing supports, and medical care.
- Determine when higher levels of care (ER or hospital) are needed and facilitate connections.
- Active RN license (new graduates are welcome to apply).
- Strong interest in community health, public health, or outreach nursing.
- Compassion, patience, and the ability to engage with vulnerable populations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Bilingual Spanish speakers strongly encouraged (additional $2,000 stipend).
