Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (Night Shift)

Position Summary

Join a high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit at Elliot Hospital, part of SolutionHealth. This unit averages 2,100 deliveries annually and includes a Level III NICU. The RN will provide care in a fast-paced environment with complex obstetric cases and must be able to circulate for C-sections.

Key Requirements

• Experience:
• Minimum 3 years preferred (will screen for 1–2 years)
• Previous charge experience preferred
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Former employees of any SolutionHealth facility are not eligible
• Certifications:
• Required: BLS, ACLS, NRP
• Preferred: AWHONN Intermediate
• Skills Required:
• Circulate for C-sections
• Labor & Delivery management
• Neonatal care in delivery room
• Postpartum care
• Pain management
• Fetal monitoring (external/internal, IUPC)
• IV therapy/phlebotomy
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• Travel Experience: Required

• Special Procedures:
• Cesarean Section
• Massive Transfusion Protocol
• Hysterectomy (if indicated for PPH)
• Postpartum Tubal Ligation
• D&C (if indicated)
• Cerclage placement
• Medication conversion onto Subutex
• Special Equipment:
• Bakari balloon
• Belmont rapid transfusion
• JADA and Triton
• Fetal monitors
  

Scheduling & Coverage

• Block Schedule: Not guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (6 shifts per contract)
• Float Requirement: Yes
• May float to Mother/Baby, ICU, ED for task-based support
• Will not be assigned patients outside clinical scope
• Call Requirement: None
• Orientation: 24 hours (includes HealthStream and unit shadowing)
• Scrub Color: Any color
