Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (Night Shift

Position Summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a skilled Labor & Delivery RN to join their team in a high-acuity unit providing care for patients 32 weeks and above. The nurse will assist in triage, labor, delivery, and postpartum care, including surgical procedures and newborn support. Scrub experience is mandatory.

Key Requirements

• Experience:
• Minimum 2 years required
• First-time travelers must have current labor experience
• Certifications:
• Required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, FHM, AWHONN Intermediate
• Skills Required:
• Scrub and circulate for C-sections
• Triage of obstetrical patients
• High-risk delivery support
• Postpartum care and wound management
• Neonatal care and thermoregulation
• IV therapy and medication administration
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• Travel Experience: Not required
• NJ License: Required at submission

• Patient Ratio: 1:2 (Days, Nights, Weekends)
• Patient Age Group: Adults
• Special Procedures:
• OR and PACU within unit
• Cervical cerclage, D&C, tubal ligation
• Special Equipment: Novii fetal monitoring
• Interdisciplinary Support:
• RT, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response, Transportation
  

Scheduling & Coverage

• Block Schedule: Not available
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (8 shifts per contract)
• Call Requirement: Yes – 24 hours per 4-week period
• Orientation: 36 hours (16 hours non-billable)
• Scrub Color: Provided by facility
