Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Job Overview

LifeBridge Health is seeking an experienced ER Registered Nurse to join its Emergency Department team. This is a travel contract opportunity for nurses with at least 3 years of ER experience. First-time travelers are not accepted.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care to patients across all age groups in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform triage, administer medications, and manage acute and chronic conditions.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, including pacing and lethal arrhythmias.
• Administer emergency interventions and procedural sedation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3 years in Emergency Nursing
• Licensure: Active RN license
• Certifications (Required):
• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• NIHSS
• Facility Dysrhythmia Exam (Advanced level required)
• Certifications (Preferred):
• CPI
• TNCC
• Travel Experience: Required
• Charting System: Any (Required)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4 (Days, Nights, Weekends)
  

Skills & Competencies

Pediatric Care:

• Asthma, seizures, infections, burns, behavioral health, abuse identification
  
  

Psychiatric Care

• Acute psychosis, overdose, suicidal patients, psychiatric holds
  
  

IV Therapy & Phlebotomy

• Starting IVs, blood product administration, central line care*
  
  

Respiratory Management

• Chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilated patients, ABG interpretation*
  
  

Emergency Medications

• IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation*, procedural sedation
  
  

Neurological

• Stroke (CVA) management
  
  

Trauma & Shock

• Gunshot wounds*, traumatic amputations*, multisystem failure
  
  

Orthopedics

• Splinting*, ortho-trauma*
  
  

Professional Skills

• Isolation precautions, triage, cardiac monitoring, 12-lead EKG
  
  

Work Environment

• Setting: General Emergency Department (Adult & Pediatric)
• Facility Type: Level II Trauma Center*, STEMI & Stroke Certified
• Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Daily Census: ~120 visits/day
• Rooms: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Orientation Hours: 18 (Non-billable)
