Position Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Primary Care / Pediatrics (Dorchester, MA)
Overview:
This nursing role involves a wide range of responsibilities focused on patient care, case management, and administrative support. You will work closely with providers and other departments to ensure comprehensive patient care, from conducting clinical assessments and administering medications to managing patient education and follow-up. The position requires strong clinical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to adapt care to diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities/ Job Duties:
- Direct Patient Care: Provide direct care, including administering medications and immunizations, performing procedures, and conducting clinical assessments. You'll also be responsible for triaging patient calls and scheduling nursing appointments.
- Case Management & Education: Manage patient cases, with a focus on chronic illnesses and addiction recovery. You will educate patients on their conditions and treatments, ensuring care is appropriate for their age, physical ability, and culture.
- Coordination & Communication: Facilitate communication between providers, staff, and outside facilities to ensure all patient information and test results are properly shared and followed up on.
- Administrative & Reporting: Complete patient forms, maintain adequate medical supply and vaccine inventories, and ensure all reportable diseases are accurately reported to the appropriate health departments. You will also maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- RN License
- 1 Year of RN Experience
Schedule/ Shift:
Monday - Friday 8am-5pm, One 12pm-8pm shift per week (not on Friday)
