Job Description And Duties

Under the direction of the Headquarters Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) of the Whole Person Care Program (WPCP) or designee, the Nursing Consultant, Program Review (NCPR) is responsible for supporting the development and statewide deployment of the WPCP, Complete Care Model (CCM), Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment, Hepatitis C Treatment (HCV), and other clinical initiatives at California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS). The NCPR provides program consultation regarding nursing practices, procedures, and standards. This position has the possibility of travel up to 80% of the time with limited notice.

This position is located in the Nursing Services Branch, which provides essential leadership and institutional support advocating positive change to promote quality in the provision of safe, efficient, and competent nursing care in all service line delivery areas, including inpatient, outpatient, specialty care, and TTA/R&R /Reception Center. Additionally, the headquarters Chief Nurse Executives provide statewide program guidance to nursing service lines at all 35 institutions and support nursing practice through the assessment of processes, policies and procedures, protocols, clinical decision support tools, nursing curriculum and competencies, and the deployment of nursing resources to assist and support the goal of continuous quality improvement.
