Job Summary And Qualifications

This Job Description for the CVT in the Cardiac Cath Lab, provides criteria for evaluation of the CVT working in a staff position. The CVT assigned to the Cardiac Cath Lab cares for adult and geriatric patients.

What you will do in this role:

• Responsible for assisting the R.N. in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of the
• Cath Lab patient.
• Manages all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment in the Cath Lab.
• Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care.
• Assists the physician with all procedures performed in the Cath Lab.
• Is able to function in a Code Blue situation.
• Is able to function in a call-out situation by scrubbing and running the table (x-ray).
• Competently operates radiologic equipment and possesses trouble shooting skills.
• Able to scrub all procedures in Cath Lab.
• Operates hemodynamic monitoring computer during cases.
• Performs decentralized testing, according to protocol.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• NIH Stroke Scale
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree
• 1 year RN Cath Lab experience in an acute care setting
