Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Perform independent nursing functions and delegated medical tasks in accordance with state Board of Nursing standards.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
• Conduct ongoing health assessments and data collection.
• Provide health education and counseling.
• Deliver supportive and restorative therapy and treatment directly or through delegation, supervision, or consultation.
• Execute delegated medical functions and refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed.
• Monitor and review therapy and treatment plans.
• Document care in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Utilize resources effectively and efficiently.
• Uphold the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health and adhere to service behavior standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• May float to other departments based on business needs and within scope of competency.
• May be placed on-call during scheduled shifts.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Ability to perform all essential duties satisfactorily.
• Must meet knowledge, skills, education, training, licensure, and experience requirements.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
  
  

Education & Certifications

Required Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing school.
  
  

Preferred Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
  
  

Required Licensure & Certifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.
• Additional certifications (ACLS, NRP, PALS) as applicable to unit/service.
  
  

Preferred Certifications

• Unit/service-specific certifications preferred.
