This vacancy will be posted on internal Career Website for 10 work days. Associates are eligible to apply for a transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Probationary period is four (4) months for full-time employees, and six (6) months for part-time employees.
The Montefiore RN-OR maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing's Social Policy Statement.
The Registered Nurse - OR actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced scorecard performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center. The RN participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills.
The RN demonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on the patient population served. Responsibilities

- The Registered Nurse contributes to the actualization of the philosophy and objectives of the MMC and the Surgical Care Center.
- They are committed to maintaining the standards of the practice of nursing and are responsible for the coordination, implementation, and delivery of care to the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and/or elderly patient.
- They participate in performance improvement/research activities, maintain professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrate leadership skills.
- New York State Registered Professional License and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State.
- B.S. degree preferred.
- BLS required.
- Membership in CNOR highly desirable.
- OR experience preferred.
