About The Job

This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care during the patients stay, through the use of the nursing process. Cares for the critically ill patient, directs patient/family education and delegates to ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Education

What we are looking for:

• Graduate of a program in professional nursing.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa.
  
  

Experience

• Previous experience in acute care preferred.
• Participation in a dedicated critical care internship preferred.
  
  

Special Skills And Competencies

• Must provide proof of Basic Life Support-American Heart Association (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current certification.
• Completes Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 3 months of hire and maintains current certification.
• Completes Mandatory Reporting requirement within 6 months of hire and renews Mandatory Reporting requirement every 5 years.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Completes Cardiac Dysrhythmias and Management class or equivalent within 3 months of hire.
• Demonstrates a high degree of patience and flexibility.
