Job Requisition: RN – Labor and Delivery (Travel)

Role Overview

The RN – Labor and Delivery provides compassionate, evidence-based care to patients in the OB Postpartum unit. This role supports laboring patients, postpartum recovery, and newborn care, while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the care team
• Perform clinical interventions including IV therapy, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection
• Educate patients and families based on learning readiness and needs
• Advocate for patient safety, rights, and preferences
• Deliver culturally sensitive, relationship-based care
• Delegate tasks appropriately per state regulations and hospital policy
• Serve as a professional role model and mentor to new staff and students
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice
• Maintain professional development and competency through continuing education
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Labor & Delivery preferred
• Strong clinical knowledge and skills relevant to OB/Postpartum nursing
• Ability to float to other CommonSpirit facilities within a 60-mile radius, including cross-functional assignments
  
  

Education & Certifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (required); BSN preferred
• Active RN license (Utah or compact state via NLC)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) – required
• NRP certification – required
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) or AWHONN certification – required
