Position Summary:

Medix is looking for a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to assist a client's mental wellness unit. The selected individual will be instrumental in aiding individuals diagnosed with conditions such as schizophrenia disorder, mood instability, and related psychiatric challenges by delivering regular intramuscular treatments, conducting health evaluations, and overseeing routine laboratory screenings.

Primary Duties:

• Provide intramuscular therapies for individuals prescribed psychotropic substances
• Carry out clinical evaluations to track emotional and physical well-being
• Collect biological samples (e.g., venipuncture) to evaluate drug concentrations before dosing
• Record key health metrics, including arterial pressure
• Maintain detailed and prompt care-related documentation
• Work alongside therapists, counselors, and medical teams to maintain coordinated treatment
• Adhere to hygiene standards and protocols for patient protection

Requirements:

• Valid RN credential issued by the State of New York
• Minimum of 12 months of hands-on practice, ideally within psychiatric or emotional care environments
• Previous experience delivering intramuscular pharmaceuticals is essential
• Confident supporting individuals with complex mental health diagnoses, including psychotic and mood disorders
• Capable of operating both independently and as part of a diverse care team
• Excellent decision-making ability and interpersonal communication

Desirable Experience:

• Familiarity with psychiatric medication protocols
• Background in drawing blood and interpreting lab findings
