Job Overview

Weekly Gross pay :-$2,269.80

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED) CWR $63.05 per hour

Facility: Hackensack Meridian Health

Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601

Assignment Type: Contract

Start Date: 10/06/2025

Hours per Week: 36

Shift / Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | 12-hour shifts | 3 shifts/week

Schedule Notes:

  • Busy ED unit – 1:6+ patient ratios
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday requirement: 3 of 6
  • No on-call requirement
  • Days per Week: 3

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department setting.
  • Rapidly assess, prioritize, and treat patients with physical and/or behavioral health conditions.
  • Deliver care to patients across the lifespan in trauma, medical, and psychiatric emergencies.
  • Implement and evaluate individualized patient care plans using critical thinking and clinical judgment.
  • Administer medications, perform interventions, and monitor patient responses according to hospital standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure best outcomes.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with hospital policy and regulatory standards.
  • Educate patients and families on care plans, treatments, and discharge instructions.
  • Promote patient safety by adhering to infection control, medication safety, and emergency care protocols.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 18 months of recent RN experience in an Emergency Department setting

ED experience within the past 6 months

Strong clinical knowledge and ability to develop/implement nursing care plans

Ability to respond quickly in trauma/emergency situations

Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team

Certifications & Licensure (Must-Haves)

  • NJ State RN License or Multistate Compact License
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • Telemetry Certification
  • NIHSS Certification
  • Stroke CEU – 4 hours
